PRMC EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT NAMES MEDICAL DIRECTOR
 

Paris Regional Medical Center (PRMC) is pleased to announce that David Abebefe, M.D., has been named Medical Director of the Emergency Department. Dr. Abebefe has served for nearly 20 years as an emergency physician in a number of Texas hospitals, including Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Hopkins County Memorial in Sulfur Springs, Doctor’s Hospital in Dallas, Baylor Medical Center in Frisco and Presbyterian Hospital in Greenville. He has been a member of the PRMC Emergency Department physician team since 2007.

“Dr. Abebefe has a passion for compassionate care and is committed to driving improvements in the emergency department, such as shorter wait times for patients,” said Chris Dux, CEO at PRMC. “I am confident that Dr. Abebefe’s years of experience as an ER physician will serve him well in his new role as Medical Director.”

Dr. Abebefe received his medical degree from the University of Ibadan College of Medicine in Ibadan, Nigeria. He completed a residency in Internal Medicine at Eastern Virginia Graduate School of Medicine in Norfolk, Virginia and a residency in Pediatrics at Beth Israel Medical Center in Newark, New Jersey.

Dr. Abebefe holds certifications from the American Boards of Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine.
