Registration Ends February 14 for Third Annual Event |

Paris Regional Medical Center’s Aerofit Wellness Center announced today that registration has begun for the “Third Annual Shallow Water Invitational Swim Competition” scheduled for Saturday, February 16.
The event features races in a variety of strokes, including backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly and freestyle that will be divided in eleven age categories from 8 and under, to 66 and up. Four-person relays in both freestyle and medley are also part of the competition. Participants will compete against others of their own age.
Organizer, Cheri Bedford, says the event is tailored to all age groups and experience levels. “Although this is a competition, it is designed for the enjoyment and fun of all swimmers,” said Bedford. “You do not have to know how to swim every stroke to complete. Events range from 25 to 200 yards based on age.”
The registration cost of $15 includes entry into four events; additional events are $3 per event for a maximum of six events.
Registration deadline is February 14. All participants who register before February 12 will receive a commemorative t-shirt.
If you’re not able to compete, Bedford says there is still a way for you to participate. “We need a number of volunteers to help us with important tasks like timing and awards.”
